Özet (EN)
Objective: The aim of this study was to produce a composite coating layer of Fe-Co (iron-cobalt) based Ta (Tantalum) reinforcement on the surface of Hardox 500 steel using the TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) method, and to investigate its mechanical properties. Method: In this study, a Hardox 500 steel material with dimensions of 20x1000x10 mm^3 was obtained. Channels with dimensions of 6 mm width and 1.5 mm depth were created. Surface coating processes were carried out using the TIG method with a current of 150 A. After the coating process, Optical Microscopy (OM), Scanning Electron Microscopy, and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) analyses were conducted. Charpy V-notch Impact and Microhardness tests were performed to examine the mechanical properties of the coated samples. Results: Analyses conducted after the surface coating processes revealed grain growth and typical dendritic formations in the surface morphology. It was determined that the hardness value of Hardox 500 steel decreased as a result of the coating process. In the Charpy V-notch test results, it was observed that all samples fractured. Conclusion: It has been determined that the welding of Hardox 500 steel with the added alloys is possible. Furthermore, the significant changes in mechanical properties are believed to guide further comprehensive research.
