Abstract (EN)

This thesis aims to analyze the plays Mariana Pineda and Doña Rosita la soltera o el lenguaje de las flores of Federico García Lorca according to feminist theory. In this study we reached the result that the characters in both plays are not reflected in the male-dominated point of view by discussing them in terms of gender roles. Moreover the research mostly includes the ideas of Kate Millet, Susan M. Gilbert and Susan Gubar about researching the mentioned plays. Furthermore, the political developments in Spain and the place of women in social life at the end of the 19th and early 20th centuries have been associated with the theme of women in the plays. Also in this study, the language and symbols used in the texts have been analyzed and it has been determined that there is not a gendered discourse.
