Özet (EN)
In a plane where the ways of perceiving the world are constantly changing, the perspective on the concept of time has changed as well. The ways of perceiving time are handled in two ways, cyclical and linear. Whether time should be considered cyclical or linear is a perplexing problem in every age. Civilizations that considered time cyclical before divine religions were included in the history of thought brought forward the idea that time can be linear when religions enter the stage of thought. The point we want to reach is that certain time assumptions have been put forward since the first civilizations, while some found supporters, others were subjected to heavy criticism. The concept of time, which was systematized for the first time with Aristotle, became objective with Newton and had a relative position with Einstein. The idea that the change, the foundations of which we saw for the first time in Parmenides of Elea, is actually an illusion, and therefore we cannot talk about the existence of time, came to light again hundreds of years later with J. Ellis McTaggart. J. Ellis McTaggart, who systematized this assumption of time, presented the Argument of the Unreality of Time to the history of thought with his article of the same name. On the occasion of the admiration for Hegel in McTaggart, his way of perceiving time took place in the opposite direction. In the path opened by McTaggart, different time assumptions have been developed and still continue to be developed. In this study, the meanings attributed to the concept of time in the historical process are summarized and McTaggart's Unrealism of Time argument is tried to be grounded. Keywords: Time, The Unreality of Time, J.Ellis McTaggart
