Abstract (EN)

Changes in Muscle Activity and Performance After Cuff-induced Ischemic Preconditioning (IPC) Around the Femoral Zone Goal: Ischemic adaptation has local and systemic effects on improving oxygenation and maximal exercise performance on both fibers and skeletal muscles. The aim of this study is to examine the post-effects of ischemic preconditioning and reperfusion applied to extremities on anaerobic capacity and muscle force. Additionally, the study focuses on the effects of ischemic preconditioning on force output during maximal exercise performance. Materials and Method: The study sample consists of 14 volunteer male students studying at İstanbul University, Faculty of Sports Sciences. The average age of the participants was 21,93 ± 1,5 years, the average weight was 71,66 ± 9,24 kg and the average height was 176,13 ± 6,13 cm. The participants were informed about all the details of the study and gave their consent. ''Wingate'' and isokinetic tests were then applied to the participants consecutively. With the aim of determining the effects of ischemic preconditioning, the data analytics obtained from the repeated tests after ischemia emerged in the femoral zones of the participants was assessed, and the significant differences among the repeated tests were checked. Findings:Considering the ''Wingate'' and isokinetic test results which were conducted after ischemia and reperfusion periods applied to both legs, there was no statistically meaningful difference found although the absolute values after ischemia were high in all power values (p<0.05). Results: It was found that the ischemia and reperfusion periods applied on one cycle did not result in any change in anaerobic power and, during the isokinetic measurements, there was no acute effect on both flexor and extensor muscle force and functions.
