Abstract (EN)
This study aims to determine pre-service science teachers' misconceptions about solutions with a two-stage test. In this study, the scanning model, which is one of the quantitative research methods, was used. According to the convenient sampling method, the sample of the research consists of 179 teacher candidates studying in the 1.2.34th grade. As a data collection tool in the research, a two-stage test with 18 questions was developed to detect the misconceptions of teacher candidates about solutions prepared under 7 headings such as solution definition, dissolution phenomenon, solution types, colligative properties of solutions, concentration calculations, factors affecting solubility and graphic interpretation. advanced. The first stage of the developed test is multiple choice, and the second stage is open-ended. The reliability of the test was found to be 0.53 with a KR value of 20. The analysis of the data obtained from the test was made with the SPSS 22.0 program. The answers given by the pre-service teachers to the first and second stages of the test were interpreted by giving their frequencies and percentages. The answers given by the pre-service teachers to the second stage of the test were evaluated as correct answer - correct reason 3 points, wrong answer - correct reason 2 points, the correct answer - wrong reason 1 point. The sub-problems of the research are to determine the knowledge levels of teacher candidates according to gender and class variables. The data of the sub-problems were obtained from the first stage of the test. Determination of the level of knowledge according to the class variable was made with the Kruskal Wallis H test, and the level of knowledge according to the gender variable was determined with the Mann Whitney U test. As a result of the research, it was determined that the pre-service teachers had various misconceptions about solutions and the knowledge level of the students who just learned about the solutions was higher than the last year's students. The two-stage test developed on the solutions can be used to detect pre-service teachers' misconceptions. Keywords: Science Education, Misconception, Two-Stage Test, Solutions
