Evaluation of science teachers' views on individuals with specialeducation needs

One of the most important courses for individuals with need special education to acquire daily life skills is the science course. In order for these students to achieve the basic objectives and achievements of the science course, it is necessary to determine the views of the teachers about the science outcomes, teaching methods and techniques, their competencies in preparing materials for those students, and the measurement-evaluation tools used for those students. Therefore, in this study, it is aimed to evaluate the views of science teachers about individuals with need special education. This research is a qualitative research designed in a phenomenological study. The participant research consists of science teachers working in Antalya province Alanya in the 2020-2021 academic year. A semi-structured interview form was used as a data collection tool. Research findings revealed that science teachers made some adaptations for the individual needs of students with special education needs. Teachers suggest developing sample assessment-evaluation scales to analyze the academic success and development of students in need of special education.
