Faculty of science and letters and faculty of education students' teaching philosophy beliefs (sakarya University sample)

The study on faculty of science and letters and faculty of education students' teaching philosophy beliefs was made with 1112 students from Sakarya University. In this research, teaching philosophy beliefs levels were investigated within the frame of essentialism, perennialism, progressivism and re-constructionism sub dimensions. At the end of this research, existentialism philosophy is the most popular sub dimension in education faculty. Also it is detected that progressivism and existentialism sub dimensions' levels are higher among female students. In comparison with this essentialism sub dimension level is higher among male students. Also it was detected that 1st grade students' perennialism levels, which is one of the sub dimensions of teaching philosophy, are higher than 4th grade students. In comparison with this situation, 4th grade students' progressivism and re-constructionism levels, which are sub dimensions of teaching philosophy, are higher than 1st grade students.
