The reflections on the academic community and the media of the formation that is given to science and literature students

The aim of this study is to reveal consequential effects to the Faculty of Arts & Science, Teachers College and on Media of giving a rearranged initial teacher training education to undergraduate students studying in the Faculty of Arts & Sciences. This study was carried out by those consisting of 1 administrator and 5 lecturers both at the Faculty of Arts & Science and Teachers College and also 27 students in total ? 3 students from each class from both the Faculty of Arts & Science and Teachers College. At the first step of the study, an interview was conducted with the administrators, the lecturers and the students for their opinions about training education. In order to detect how media organs consider this subject, some documents from the internet and press were also obtained.As a result of the study, it is determined that the group involved in the Faculty of Arts & Science considers training education positively and they think the application will allow those best at their field to be a teacher and thus improve teacher quality. On the other hand, it is concluded that the other group including Teachers College considers training education negatively and according to them, a great injustice will be done to students at Teachers College and the application will negatively affect Teachers Colleges. From the point of Media, not only positive but also negative opinions are declared.The administrators and lecturers of both the Faculty of Arts & Science and Teachers College have common opinions despite of the fact that some of their opinions differ considerably from each other.Consequently, this application is considered positively by members of the Faculty of Arts & Science while those of Teachers College find it an injustice. The administrators of both sides have no agreement on the answer to the question which faculty is in charge of preparing teachers. Difference between a mathematician and a mathematics trainer is not known yet.Programs which will be applied for preparing teachers must be determined by specialists whose training level and knowledge are sufficient. Administrators, lecturers, and students are also offered for consideration. By considering the difference between scientist and educationist, teacher training education programs must be arranged.
