Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to research the effect of the educational material developed graphic novel style on motivation and students' success in Science education. In this research, the quasi experimental design with pre-test-post-test and a control group was used. The independent variables are the educational material developed graphic novel style and Science course book. The dependent variables of the study are the level of students' motivation and success. The work group study consisted of the fourth grade classes studying in three central elementary schools in Demirci the distict of Manisa in the spring in 2015-2016 academic year. The research carried out with 62 students and the experimental group consisted of 30 students and the control group consisted of 32 students. "Instructional Materials Motivation Survey", success test developed by researcher and interview forms developed by researcher for students and teachers was used as data collection tool of study. In this study, it was reached that graphic novel style materials are raised to students' motivation and academic success. The opinions of teachers and students about the educational material developed graphic novel style are positive.
