Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to identify the obstacles and the difficulties that the elementary science teachers in the primary schools are faced with, due to physical environment and managers while working on practical works.The screening model is used in the study. The survey was applied to total 60 private and state elementary schools in three different districts on the Asian side of Istanbul. The survey was applied only to 117 elementary science teachers. The questionnaire consists of two parts. The first part contains personal information and individual questions. The second part is separated into two sections and there are 13 and 14 questions, respectively. At the first part of the questionnaire, there are questions about the personal information of the elementary science teachers, such as; their experience, graduation, gender, school type, number of students in the classrooms, working hours per week, existence of the laboratories, and the conditions of these laboratories and so on. At the second part of the questionnaire; there are two sections, one of them is related to the physical environment and the other one is related to the problems due to the managers.This study consists of six parts; these are; introduction, related books and articles, method, findings, results and proposals. The results which are meaningful at p.05 level are evaluated and shown in the tables. The groups which do not have significant differences are not included in the research.
