Abstract (EN)
In this study, four Schiff bases were synthesized from fenazopridin hydrochloride (FAP)?s reaction with salicylaldehyde, 5-methoxy-salicylaldehyde, 5-nitro-salicylaldehyde and 2-hydroxy-1-naphtaldehyde. The structure of Synthesized these Schiff bases were determined with spectroscopic methods (FT-IR, 1H NMR and 13C NMR).After optimum experimental conditions (solvent, electrode, supporting electrolyte) were determined, the electrochemical reduction properties of FAP and its Schiff bases were investigated in 0,1 M tetrabutylammonium iodide / dimethyl sulfoxide (TBAI / DMSO) on glassy carbon electrode by cyclic voltammetry (CV) technique. The effect of sübstitüent and scan rate on peak potential and peak current were investigated. Current type and kinetics of the electrode reaction were determined. The reduction mechanism were proposed for all compounds. Keywords: Fenazopridin hydrochloride, Schiff base, dimethyl sulfoxide, tetrabutylammonium iodide, cyclic voltammetry, glassy carbon electrode
