Abstract (EN)

In this study, Schiff bases to be used as intermediates were synthesized from the condensation of 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde with aromatic amines (aniline,4-chlorobenzenamine, 3,4-dichlorobenzenamine, 4-nitrobenzenamine, p-toluidine). These reaction of the intermediate synthesized Schiff bases with 1,2-bis(bromomethyl)benzene result in new pheoxy-imine ligands. Metal complexes of the ligands with Fe(III), Cr(III), Ru(III) chlorine salts were obtained. In addition, dialdehyde compounds were prepared from the reactions of 1,2-bis(bromomethyl)benzen with 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde and 2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde. New phenoxy-imine ligands were then synthesized from the reaction of aldehydes with 2-aminophenol and their metal complexes were obtained with Fe(III), Cr(III) and Ru(III) chloride salts. All reactions were monitored by Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) and crude products were purified by crystallization from appropriate solvents or washed with different organic solvents. The structures of synthesized compounds were determined using spectroscopic and analytical methods such as, elemental analysis (C, H, N), FT IR, UV/Vis, ¹H NMR, 13C NMR, LCMS/MS, TGA/DTA spectroscopy within molar conductivity and magnetic susceptibility. The catalytic properties of synthesized complexes have been studied. Key Words: Schiff bases, Metal complexes, Synthesis, Spectroscopic method, Catalytic activity.
