Abstract (EN)

Today in health centers, the process of measuring and tracking ECG signals of the patients happens to be by the help of the devices at each patient`s room. These high priced devices cost much since one device per patient needed. In this project, a design is made for the system which transports the ECG signals to the fiber optic media after measuring, and transmits this optical signals to a central control unit (computer) via an optical communication network. Control unit samples the electrical signals which is obtained by demodulation, by the help of a data acquisition card. So these signals can be tracked and saved to create a database. Control unit is simulated using MATLAB. But during the simulation is done in this thesis work, sinusoidal signal is used instead of ECG signal because of its easiness in practice. In real application ECG signal will be used. By the help of this project, the health centers will be able to provide and modernize ECG tracking networks without dependance to abroad. In addition, it is possible to track a person`s cardiological health during his/her life by the help of a central database that can be obtained. Key Words : FBG, sensor, FBG sensor network, optical network.
