Abstract (EN)

From the past to the present, marriage has had an important place in every society. Especially since it has a religious aspect, this becomes even more important in Muslim societies. There are different tribes and religions in Ivory Coast. Marriages are held between tribes. However, no matter what religion they belong to, tribes have their own customs and everyone practices their own wedding tradition during marriage, as in many other areas. Muslims also apply their customs in their own culture, both according to their religion, regarding marriage. Our subject has been discussed on four tribes. Because there are more than sixty tribes in Ivory and these tribes are gathered under four main tribes compared to the tribes whose languages and customs are close to each other. In our study, a tribe was selected from each group and research was carried out. In addition, the tribes we have chosen are the most prominent in terms of politics, trade and social life in Ivory Coast. The tribes in question are: Senoufou, Malinke, Baoule, Bete. In this study, the forms and stages of marriage of the four tribes from the past to the present are discussed. For this purpose, the definition of marriage according to the Ivory Coast Civil Code and Islamic Law, its conditions, the current application forms are discussed and solutions are tried to be brought to today's issues by including controversial issues.
