In recent years, economic globalization and technological advancement have contributed to major growth in financial market integration. A financial shock in one market can quickly be transmitted internationally to other markets, according to research findings in this area. Recent events have demonstrated that some developing countries' financial markets are more vulnerable to financial shocks than other emerging markets. Current account deficits, currency volatility, and weakening financial institutions are all contributing to the standoff. This could be due to a lack of knowledge and bias among international investors about some emerging markets. This research evaluates and analyzes the financial soundness of 12 countries (The "Fragile Five" plus other countries with similar characteristics). For this purpose, the most recent (2018-2020) annual data available on the IMF website for 8 financial soundness indicators of selected countries were used. The importance level of these data was first obtained by the Entropy method. Then the soundness of the financial systems was ranked in the selected periods using the TOPSIS method (one of the Multi-Criteria Decision-Making methods). The financial system soundness of the selected countries was evaluated according to their financial institutions' soundness. When compared with the countries in the whole sample, it was found that the countries with the worst performance in the periods covered by the research were not only the "Fragile Five". Argentina and Greece are below the optimal ideal solution for certain years. Moreover, Brazil and South Africa from Fragile Five constantly showed top performance. The results for other countries fluctuated during recent years.
