Özet (EN)

Fasteners play an important role in the aerospace engineering. There is a big a range riveted joint applications for aircrafts. Jet engine structures, boilers, storage tanks etc. Riveted joints are also used to fasten rolled steel sections in structural work, such as bridge and roof trusses. This study deal with stress analysis of riveted lap joint and for this purpose the well known software ANSYS 14.0 was used for solutions of problems. This study involves the appropriate configuration (width of plates, diameter of rivet, overlap length, thickness of plates) and characterization (number of rows, number of rivet and etc.) of the lap joint for maximum load carrying capacity by using ANSYS. In this study the riveted lap joint analysis is divided into two main stages. First, rivet installation is simulated by interference misfit method. Subsequently application of an external tensile load to the joint is simulated to obtain the full three-dimensional stress state. After obtaining stress states for both the riveting process and tensile loading effects of riveting process parameters on the stress components are explored. Also the study includes the stress analysis of double riveted lap, triple riveted lap joint, double row of riveted lap joint and zigzag riveted lap joints Keywords: Riveted lap joint, F.E.A, ANSYS (workbench), stress analysis, analysis of different riveted lap joints, residual stress analysis
