Evaluation of correlation between scientific process skills' usage level of physics teacher candidates with the attitudes towards physics, gender, class level and high school type which they graduated from

In this research, it is intended to determine Scientific Process Skills? usage level of physics teacher candidates and to evaluate the correlation of usage levels of these skills with the attitudes towards physics, gender, class level, and high school type which they graduated from.This study done is a descriptive and correlational field research. In the research, general survey model was used, and the research was conducted on physics teacher candidates from each class level reading at Dokuz Eylül University, Buca Education Faculty at the spring semester of 2007?2008 academic year.Data of the research were collected by means of Scientific Process Skills Scale and Attitude Scale Towards Physics Course. At the analysis of the data obtained from the research; Arithmetic Mean, Standard Deviation, KR-20, t-test, Variance Analysis and Scheffe Test were used.Findings obtained at the end of the research emphasize that scientific process skills levels of the physics teacher candidates displayed significant differences according to the attitude towards physics, class level, and the high school type which they graduated from. In addition to this, it was determined that there was no significant difference between scientific process skills levels of the physics teacher candidates and the variable of gender; and in the direction of the obtained results, certain suggestions were discussed.
