Abstract (EN)

Salicylethylenediamine derivatives(salen) and their complexes with transition metals are known, as is their ability to catalyse several transformations of organic molecules. Especially notable has been their use in catalytic asymmetric epoxidation of non-functionalized olefins. The best known and most useful is manganese (III) complexes derived from trans-1,2-diaminocyclohexane has successfully been used in enantioselective epoxidation of alkenes using iodosylbenzene, sodium hypochlorite and hydroperoxides as oxygen sources. In this study, six new salen base type ligands N,N?-bis(2-hydroxy-1-naphtaldeyde)-1,2- phenylendimin, N,N?-bis(2-hydroxy-3-metoxy-benzaldimin)-1,2-phenylendimin, N, N?-bis(2-hydroxy-4-metoxy-benzaldimin)-1,2-phenylendimin, (R,R)-N,N?-bis(2- hydroxy-5-trifluoromethoxy-benzaldimin)-1,2-phenylendimin, (R,R)-N,N?-bis(2- hydroxy-1-naphtaldehyde)-1,2-phenylendimin, N,N?-bis(2-hydroxy-5-trifluoro methoxy-benzaldehyde)-1,2- phenylendimin were synthesized. Cu(II), Ni(II) and Mn(II) complexes of the synthesized ligands were prepared and structures of the ligands and the complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, IR, 1H NMR and single crystal X-ray spectroscopy. Key Words : Schiff base, salen, epoxydation, catalyst
