Mechanical and artistic devolopment of flute in the context of German flute art: 18th and 19th century

German school which stands out with famous musicians such as Johann Joachim Quantz, Johann Baptist Wendling, Johann George Tromlitz and Theobald Boehm has a very important place in 18th and 19th Centuries Western Europe flute art. Each of these musicians played an important role in development of flute art through whether revolutionary changes they carried out on the form of flute or the methods they wrote on the formation of flute pedagogy. Certainly these developments increased the interest of the composers in this instrument taking a new turn to esthetics of performance, and contributed to today's flute repertoire with many original compositions. At this study, German flutists who played an active role in development of flute art in 18th and 19th centuries, innovations brought to the instrument, methods written for the flute and information relating to the works are given.
