Abstract (EN)

Within the scope of Dada and Fluxus movements, the research on the sculpturing process of painting introduces these movements and their important representatives through a literature review, and approaches towards the use of materials in plastic arts, material aesthetics, collage and assemblage concepts. Additionally, the information is proposed that the combination of painting and sculpture have been in contemporary art, and artists have worked in this field. Considering the details of the research, it was identified that the Dada movement was based on ambiguity and meaninglessness, developed in various cities during World War I and II, was a rebellion against the traditional understanding of art, and the artists had nihilistic perspectives. The Fluxus movement, on the other hand, began by music in the 1960s and brought together different branches of art, and opposed the consumption of human and material resources. According to consequence of the research, it was inferred that sculptural painting is the transcending of the limits of canvas painting in the traditional sense, and approaching the limits of sculpture; thus, turning towards the general work of art. Therefore, it has been stated that the interaction by the approach of painting to the art of sculpture is directly related to the physical space and the tactile properties of the artwork gain meaning in the space. Accordingly, it is stated that the exhibition of the object itself in the gallery space as an art object caused the birth of installation (arrangement) art styles and the effects of these movements are seen until today. To conclude, the examples are given from the works of foreign and local artists who work in the field. At the end of the research, when the works that sculpt the painting are considered, foreign artists who produce works in this direction are Jeff Kons, Willi Cole, Tom Freidman, Christian Boltanski and Ceca Georgieva; It has been determined that the local artists who produced works in this direction are Canan Tolon, Altan Gürman, Devabil Kara, Mehmet Kavukçu and Canan Beykal.
