Abstract (EN)
Polybenzoxazine (PBZ) polymers are phenolic resins that are synthesized using the reaction of a phenolic compound with organic amines in the presence of formaldehyde and draw attention with their high thermal stability properties. Within the scope of this thesis, the synthesis of new types of polybenzoxazines was carried out by selecting different types of starting materials. Structural analyzes, optical and spectroscopic characterization processes of synthesized polybenzoxazine products were performed by measuring with FT-IR, UV-visible and FL fluorescence spectrophotometer instruments. The microstructure, particle and surface morphologies of the obtained polybenzoxazine polymers were examined by SEM scanning electron microscope. In addition, molecular weight measurements were made with the GPC technique for some of the selected PBZ polymers with suitable solubility. It was observed that the synthesized polybenzoxazines were generally yellow, orange, and reddish in color and showed light absorption properties in the range of 200-300 nm and 300-500 nm. In this study, some selected polymers were modified with subphthalocyanine, bodipy and anthraquinone compounds to increase the light absorption properties of PBZ polymers and to ensure their absorption in the 500-700 nm range. As a continuation of these studies, DSSC solar cell performance values were measured for some of the obtained PBZ polymer dyes. As a result, it has been concluded that the obtained PBZ polymers show unique optical and electronic properties that are worth researching depending on the functional groups they carry.
