Abstract (EN)
In this study, Perturbation and Observation (P&O) Algorithm and the Incremental Conductance (IncCond) Algorithm methods and combination of these algorithms has been used to improve the efficiency of solar panel photovoltaic (PV) power generation system at different temperatures and at different insolation conditions. Other efficient methods of tracking the maximum power point (MPPT) beyond the scope of the study will not be discussed. The P&O method is one of the most widely used system in MPPT. It checks for output power of the array and compares its increase or decrease to the direction of perturbation of the operating voltage of the array itself. P&O technique is slow in finding the maximum power point, and consequently it can fail to produce accurate results in rapidly changing conditions. The IncCond technique removes some of these drawbacks of the P&O algorithm by introducing another condition which in turn increases the rate at which the perturbations are performed. The theoretical background of these two techniques is given in the thesis and simulations have been done. Combining the two techniques might yield better results. The results of the simulation have been compared with literature and proven its accuracy.Using these different methods, PV array response has been analyzed by simulating temperature and insolation parameters and RS value. Accordingly; it has been seen that the current and the voltage were affected negatively at temperature increase, and on the contrary, they were affected positively with insolation increase. It has also been seen that, the increase of the RS resistance pulled down the MPP. In this study, the affects of the RSH have been ignored. The application software, Labview, provided effortlessness in this study and affected the results and the credibility in a positive meaning. Acquiring, analyzing and transferring to the simulation environment of the necessary datum for MPPT system analyzing carry big importance too. Because of that, Data Acquisition and Analyzing (DAQ) Systems were surveyed. In the sight of the datum that have been obtained, NI FieldPoint industrial control systems were advised by appropriate hardware in real-time applications.
