Özet (EN)
Comparative literature is the study of comparing works from different country literature with similarity and differences in terms of common subjects and motifs. Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald's "The Great Gatsby" work presents sections of the social life of the post-World War I era in America. Fitzgerald called this period of "Jazz Age" a period in which easy gain, entertainment, and corruption became prominent. In the same period, Peyami Safa penned a novel "Pseudo Girls" in Turkey also draws attention to corruption in the society through corrupt individuals are moving away from traditional values. Although there are continents in between, in both novels, the post-war social structure changes, the generations show similarities with each other and the individuals of both generations are called lost individuals. In this study, Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald's "Great Gatsby (1925)" and Peyami Safa's "Pseudo-Girls (1922-1925)", although they belong to different geographies, describe the same period (1920-1930) and point to the common aspects of societies. In this respect, the two studies were compared in terms of essence and form with the text-based analysis method, which is one of the comparative literature methods, and similar and different aspects of the works were revealed.
