Suggestions on working Franz Joseph Haydn Re Majör Hob.VIIB:2 Cello Concerto with D. Popper, C. A. piatti's etudes and caprices

Considered one of the most important representatives of the Classical Period tradition in music history, Franz Joseph Haydn; by producing many works in both instrumental and vocal music genres such as chamber music, concerto, symphony and opera; became one of the most prolific composers of the music of his era. The two concertos he composed for the cello, which feature the sound limits, instrument playing techniques and virtuoso qualities of the cello are exhibited extensively within the framework of the Classical Period concerto form. The concertos have been recognized as one of the main works of the performance practice tradition of the cello. In the first part of this study, the life of Austrian composer Franz Joseph Haydn and his contributions to the Classical Period music were studied; Haydn concertos were examined within the framework of the Classical Period concerto tradition and the formal structure of D Major Hob.VIIb:2 Concerto was studied. In the second part, the contributions of David Popper and Carlo Alfredo Piatti to the cello education repertoire within the frame of their musical life were discussed; in this context, importance of the Popper Op.73 and Piatti Op. 25 Cello Methods in the cello repertory was discussed. In the third part, recommendations were given on the performance practice of Haydn Hoboken VIIb/2, Op.101; using Popper Op.73 and Piatti Op. 25 Cello Methods. Within the framework of this information, it is aimed that the study will be a Turkish resource that contributes to the field.
