Özet (EN)

In this study, an existing two-storey school building which is reinforced concrete wall + frame system performance analysis is discussed. In this context, according to ?Regulation on buildings in seismic regions" 2007, Chapter 7, intended for type of school buildings "Right of Use" and "Life Safety" performance level was investigated. This study consists of three stages. In the first stage, because of there isn?t a rein forced concrete project of the structure, geometry of structural element is defined by making in-situ measurements. Then, the necessary rein for cement requirement is detected by analyzing structure under inherent loads, according to observation that structure is standing still in the current and can cover the inherent loads. In the second stage after the existing reinforcements are found, the capacity of the structure is revealed and the structure is determined according to quality of the concrete found by drilling core. To do this, the damage level of the structural elements is determined. Damage limits are identified for the classification of damage will occur in the elements. After identifying the damage in all of the structural elements, the performance of the building were revealed according to the ratio and distribution of damage in the structure. The third and final stage, the current strength of the materials was obtained by using STA4CAD v13.1 and by selecting "Analysis for Cracked Section" option from the "Earthquake Building Retrofitting Project" option, and by choosing the current material of whole structure as E2. As a result of the performance analysis, the carrier column elements have been identified which does not provide control of the enclosed column. These columns are crunchy elements need to be strengthen in the existing structure. To intend for the improvement of the building system, these elements are proposed to be reinforced due to lack of cutting capacity. For the proposal of strengthening, panel and mantle options are selected for the reinforced elements which will be made in the structure strengthening project option. The structure performance analysis is performed again by using Sta4Cad v13.1 and irregularities in the structure and capacity of the columns have been checked again in line with the obtained results. At the end of this study, it has been shown that the structure satisfies the "Use Immediately" and "Life Safety" performance level and an alternative proposal for strengthening of the structure are given.
