Abstract (EN)

In this study, 50/70 penetration bitumen was modified with Sasobit® (S), Polyphosporic acid (PPA) and Sasobit® together with Polyphosphoric acid (PPA) additive. Conventional bitumen tests were completed on the binder with and without additives, and the mixing and compression temperatures of the mixtures were determined by the viscosity test. Also, in order to determine the temperature-dependent viscosity changes of bitumen, viscosity tests at temperatures increasing by 10°C in the temperature range of 90-160°C were completed. %3S and %3S+1%PPA modified bitumens were chosen for the mixing tests. Limestone and basalt type aggregates were chosen for mixtures. Hot mix asphalt were prepared with limestone type aggregate and Stone Mastic Asphalt mixtures were prepared with basalt type aggregate. The optimum bitumen amount of the prepared mixtures was tried to be determined by the Marshall test. AASHTO T-283 test was applied to determine the water resistance of the mixtures. Three-axis static creep test was completed to determine permanent deformation. For the triaxial static creep test, two different axial pressures at 500 kPa and 300 kPa pressures and two different environmental pressures at 200 kPa and 100 kPa pressures were applied. Hamburg rutting tests were completed in order to determine the rutting deformation. As a result of the study, it was determined that the mixing compression temperature of the bitumen was decreased by the addition of S, while the additive of S+PPA increased it. As a result of indirect tensile tests, the indirect tensile strength ratio of all mixtures was higher than 0,80. The highest indirect tensile strength value was obtained from the mixtures prepared with 3%S+1%PPA modified bitumen. As a result of the rutting test, the rutting resistance of the mixtures started to increase with the addition of additives. The triaxial static creep test could only be completed on the hot mix asphalt mixtures and it was observed that the mixtures prepared with 3%S+1%PPA modified bitumen were the most resistant to the creep test as a result of the experiment. The Francken model parameters of the triaxial static creep test and the rutting test results were tried to be determined. In the study, production cost analysis of BSK and TMA mixtures was made. It has been determined that the additives increase the production cost.
