Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to examine the perceived stress levels of football coaches in terms of some variables. The universe of the study, in which the relational scanning method, one of the quantitative research designs, is used, consists of the coaches of football teams in amateur and professional leagues operating in Istanbul. The sample of our study, which was determined with the convenience sampling method, which is one of the improbable sampling methods, consists of 118 football coaches, 108 men and 10 women. Data collection tools; The "Personal Information Form" created by the researcher and containing the demographic information of football trainers, and the "Perceived Stress Scale" was used to measure perceived stress levels. It was developed by Cohen et al. (1983). The adaptation to Turkish and its validity-reliability Eskin et al. (2013), which consists of 14 items, was designed to measure how stressful some situations in a person's life are perceived. SPSS 23.0 package program was used for data analysis. As the result of the normality analysis made on the data collected within the scope of the study, the data were suitable for normal distribution, parametric tests were used in the analysis of the data. The t-test was used to compare the means of the paired groups and the one-way ANOVA test was used to compare the means of more than two groups. As a result; A statistically significant difference was found in the stress levels perceived by football coaches with gender. It has been determined that the stress levels perceived by female trainers are higher than male trainers. No statistically significant difference was determined with other independent variables such as marital status, educational status, income levels, professional working time, professional success and league variables. Based on the averages within the scope of the research, it can be said that the stress levels perceived by football coaches in general are high.
