Investigation of duties and responsibilities of licensed football agent's directing the football industry: Turkish football leagues sample

Professional athletes appointee their managers to represent themselves outside of the field, while performing their profession in the field. Managers ensure that athletes focus only on their on-site performance by managing and conducting the life of the athletes outside of the field. Many professional athletes see their managers as reliable advisors for their outside of the field; they benefit from their managers in terms of contract contacts, PR and brand development, securing their financial future and future plans about their sport career. A relationship of trust emerges between managers and athletes due to their important roles in athlete's life. Managers, who make actions such as abuse of athlete's athletic ability, endangering athlete's financial future, harming athlete's education life and acting against the terms of the contract in violation of the established trust relationship, must be audited by the laws or the relevant institution authorities. In this thesis study, it is aimed to reveal the concept of management, which plays such an important role in the professional and private lives of athletes, and to evaluate the development process of this concept in the world and in our country. It is believed that it is very important to reveal the opinions and responsibilities of the Managers who have received the title of Licensed Football Manager from Football Federation of Turkey and to reveal the opinions of the footballers on this subject. In the research, the interviews were made in detail with the participants, and the thematic coding analysis of the data was carried out. The obtained results revealed the themes of persuasion and satisfaction, legal counseling, PR and sponsorship studies, personal intimacy, general rules of conduct.
