Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of different surfaces playedfootball, on soccer player?s power (strength), speed, coordination-quikness skills, andaerobic power (MaxVO2) performances. Fifteen volunteered soccer players playingfootball for Boluspor Super Young Team participated in this study. Their age, heightand body mass were X ? 17±1.0 years, X ? 170,80±6,38 cm, X ? 64,54±4,52 kg,respectively.Subject?s power (strength) performance was measured by long jump test, speedperformance was measured by 30 meter sprint test, coordination-quikness skills wasmeasured by HÜFA test and aerobic power performance was measured by ShuttleRun-Maximal Aerobic Power test. Subject? body composition was calculated byusing Jackson/Pollock formula. The data gathered from the tests were comparedusing paired T test in SPSS statistics programme.It was found that long jump test scores on synthetic grass was significantlydifferent from those scores on natural grass field (p<0.005) and at the end of theHÜFA test, it was found that test scores on synthetic grass was significantlydifferent from those scores on natural grass field (p<0.005). 30 meter sprint andaerobic power test on synthetic versus natural grass field were not statisticallydifferent (p>0.005).The results of the study showed that skills in soccer including directionchangings and turning performances were better on natural grass field than syntheticgrass field. However, it is hard to make a certain inference between natural grassfields and synthetic field in the sense of player?s performance in soccer.
