Abstract (EN)

Purpose: The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of core exercises on body stabilization and core strength along with the development of properties such as quickness and agility. Method: 18 players from Gaziemir FK in İzmir participated voluntarily in to study. Players who participated to study played in weekend league matches and they joined to training at weekday. Anthropometric measurements and field tests were performed on the first day of the study. Participants performed 20-minute core exercises before the football training for 3 weeks. The last performance tests were performed after the exercise time was completed. Results: According to the results of the statistical analysis, there was a significant difference between the first and last test values of the experimental group. There is no significance was found between the first and last test values in the control group. When the experimental and control groups were compared, significant differences were observed in the tests. Conclusion: According to the results of the study, core exercises positively affected strength development, quickness and agility. In addition, it can be said that different values in the literature are related to the training status of the participants and the level of the clubs and leagues they play football.
