Abstract (EN)

Objective: The purpose of the study was to investigate ostetitis pubis syndrome in soccer player and assesment of the extrinsic and intrinsic risk factors. Methods: Vestel Manisa Spor Club?s professional and candidate of professional 42 soccer players who have the mean age of 21.7±4.36 years were enrolled in the study. 7 player who have clinic sign of OPS were added Group 2 and the other 35 player were placed in Group 1. We questioned physical characteristic, disease and injury background, parameters of sport, clinic symptom of OPS. We decided tissue response and stability of the symphysis pubis by the symphysis gap test. All of player?s flexibility of lower extremity and body, tightness of muscles, muscule strength, range of motion, functional level were evaluated and anterior, posterior, lateral posture analysis were did. Results: According to our findings, %16.7 (n=7) of all our players have acute OPS. Almost %22.85 of other 35 soccer players have OPS in their injury background. We found that Group 2 who have acute OPS have uper frequency of inversion, hallucs valgus and weakness of abdominal muscle with tightness of hamstring, hip fleksor and lumbal ekstansor than Group 2 (p<0.05). Although it was found that hamstring and hip hiperextension flexibility were poor statistically, hip abduction flexibility was statistically high in Group 2 according to Grup 1. There was significant difference between reference value and measurement result of range of motion in both Group 1 and Group 2.Conclusion: We concluded that abnormal body mechanics, limitation of joint motion, tightness of muscles, poor flexibility, imbalanced and inadequate muscle strength are risk factor for OPS.Key Words: Osteitis Pubis, Risk Factors, Soccer.
