Abstract (EN)

Although many small side games are used in the literature, Hoff et al.(2002) developed 3 sets of 4x4 minutes at 90-95% maximal loading intensity, aiming to develop VO2 MAX, there is limited information about small side games (SSG) based on the loading principle. 3 sets of 4X4 min. developed by Yıldız. In accordance with the principle of SSG, Hoff et al. stated that it revealed a loading intensity similar to the loading intensity that he determined. However, the effect of this SSG on the endurance performance of football players has not been demonstrated yet. The aim of this study is Hoff et al. developed 3 sets of 4x4 min. and 90-95% load intensity principle and updated by Yıldız, the effect of 2x2 small side game on the endurance performance of young football players. 16 male football players (Age: 18.43±0.619 (years), Height: 180.68±4.542 cm, Body Weight: 72.00±6.397) from Afyon Afjet Spor U-19 team participated in the study. Participants were randomly divided into Revised 2x2 SSG (experimental group, n=8) and Classic 2x2 SSG (control group, n=8) groups. Pre-test endurance parameters of all participants were evaluated by measuring Yo-Yo 1 endurance test and in-competition kinematic and physiological values. Groups 2 days a week, 24 min. have studied the specified SSGs. As a post-test, the measurement parameters applied in the pre-tests were repeated with the same protocol method. SPSS 22.0 data analysis program was used in the statistical analysis of the data obtained as a result of the research. Before the analysis, the normal distribution of the data was examined with the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and it was seen that the data showed a normal distribution. Parametric tests were used because the data showed a normal distribution. In this context, in-group pre-test and post-test results were evaluated with the paired t-test method. In order to determine the difference between the groups, independent variable t test and repeated measures ANOVA tests were applied to determine the group time interaction. The internal consistency levels of the measurements were evaluated with the intraclass correlation coefficient. The significance level was accepted as 0.05. In addition, the effect sizes are shown by the Cohen d method. At the end of the study, Yo-Yo endurance values (3002.50±440.71 versus 3312.50±252.97 m. , p<0.05, cohen d= 0.086) in intra-group pre-test post-test comparisons running distance (9323.25±693.91 versus 10383.25±1115.312 m., p<0.05, cohen d= 1.14), number of attacks (24.75±6.431 versus 27.25±7.815, p< 0.038, cohen d= 0.54), distance traveled in the 0.00-13.99 km/h speed area ( 7187.00±439.131 versus 7432.88±532.454 m., p<0.036, cohen d= 0.50), 14.00- Distance traveled in 19.99 km/h speed area ( 1552.50±278.883 versus 1800.00±443.336 m., p<0.021, cohen d= 0.66), distance traveled in 20.00-49.99 km/h speed area (587, 25±355.765 vs. 1150.25±486.771 m., p<0.004, cohen d= 1.32 ) values increased significantly in the experimental group, but no significant difference was found in the control group. While no significant difference was detected in the comparison of the pre-test data between the groups, the Yo-Yo endurance values (3312.50±252.97 vs. 2857.50±593.24 m., p<0.046, cohen d.) were found in the comparison of the post-test data between the groups. = 0.99), running distance (10383.25±1115.31 vs. 9317.13±559.94 m., p<0.030, cohen d= 1.20) and 20.00-49.99 km/h speed It was determined that the distance covered in the field (1150.25±486.770 versus 572.13±140.198 m., p<0.005, cohen d= 1.61) values differed significantly in favor of the experimental group. As a result, it was determined that the Revised 2x2 SSG applied to the U-19 group football players 2 days a week for 4 weeks led to more improvement in the endurance capacities of the football players than the Classic 2x2 SSG without a significant change in their physiological values. Considering that SSGs include technical and tactical exercises as well as their motivational feature, it is recommended to use the Revised 2x2 SSG to improve endurance performance in football training.
