Abstract (EN)
ABSTRACT Objective: The purpose of the study was to evaluate the effect of high-intensity interval training and repeated sprint training on aerobic performance in football players. Method: 52 male football players were voluntarily participated in this study (age: 18, 69±1, 64, weight: 68, 94±5, 50 kg, height: 177, 01±4, 78 cm). Participants were randomly divided into 3 groups: High-intensity interval training group (n=20), Repeated sprint training group (n=17), Control group (n=15). High-intensity interval training (HİİT) group and repeated sprint (RS) training group were trained throughout 8 weeks, 3 days in a week, while the control group did not train. The following outcomes were evaluated at baseline and after 8 weeks of training: Yo-Yo test, 30 m sprit test, T agility test. MaxVO2 were measured from the total distance of Yo-Yo test. Additionally, lactate test was measured at the first and last training in this study. Height and weight tests were measured before the baseline tests. Results: There were significant differences Yo-Yo test, MaxVO2 test, 30 m sprint test and T agility test between pre – post tests (p<0,01, p<0,05). There was a significant difference in lactate test in HİİT and RS groups between pre – post tests (p<0, 01). Conclusion: These findings suggest that HİİT and RS training similarly effective on aerobic performance. Besides this, while 30 m sprit test T agility post-test results developed compared with pre-test in 2 groups, the development of these parameters was greater in RS group.
