Abstract (EN)
In this study, Conceptual Metaphor Theory which put forward by George Lakoff and Mark Johnson, has been examined in terms of love metaphors in the second volume of Garib-nâme, which one of the Old Anatolian Turkish texts. In the first part of the thesis, there is information about Old Anatolian Turkish, Âşık Pasha's biography and sense of his art and Garib-nâme and his other works. In the second part of thesis, Conceptual Metaphor Theory and related topics of the mentioned theory are explained, the history of metaphor, the perspective of metaphor in Turkish and foreign literature, and studies on metaphor in both literatures are given. In the third part of the thesis, metaphors of love are examined according to the theory and each type of metaphor is numbered. As a result of thesis, it has been seen that there is a lot of data about the love metaphor in the second volume of Garib-nâme and by explaining frequently used metaphor examples, it has been seen that the Conceptual Metaphor Theory can be applied in Old Anatolian Turkish text in general and in the second volume of Garib-nâme in particular.
