Abstract (EN)
Nowadays 'gastronomy', as an act of eating, has gained the quality of fieldwork by being moved into the academic field. It is seen that it brings people together with its cultural and artistic identities; it has transformed into cultural and artistics forms; and it has become a concept by making a rapid progress through the ages. Despite its technical development, it is a study field having many deficiencies in the abstract. However, it is observed that these deficiencies could be overcome with academic studies. The analogies and interactions between gastronomy and cinema in terms of cultural indicators have revealed material and nonmaterial cultural instruments of gastronomy. Evolution and transformation of gastronomy has been examined for its role in gastronomic films by analysing the perception of nutrition and food. In this study, gastronomy is examined for both its cultural sense and its role in cinema as an expressive unit by the help of semiotics. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between cinema and gastronomy. The effects of gastronomy on cinema and vice versa is aimed to be revealed by analysing the cultural and social representation of gastronomy in films in terms of indicators. Key words: Gastronomy, Culture, Cinema, Semiotics
