Abstract (EN)
Born in ?stanbul on 25 May 1917, Gavsi Ozansoy is the son of one of the most important figures of Turkish Literature, Halit Fahri Ozansoy as well as being a poet and author. Having received the initial literary training from his father, Ozansoy got the opportunity to open up his eyes to the world in a house full of art and poem; this way developing the artistic soul inside by starting to write poems at the very early age of his childhood. He published his poems and stories for a long time in the magazine of ?Servetifünun-Uyanı?? in which his father worked as the editor in chief. He became the leading figure of the movement, so called as ?Tasfiye Hareketi? (Clearance Movement) in our literature, by publishing an article titled ?Tasfiye Lazım? (Clearance is Required) in 1940. Along with his fellows who also claimed for refreshment in the literature and arts, they made a list of names to be omitted from the literature; and this way started once more time the debate of old & new in the history of literature. The ?Tasfiye Hareketi? (Clearance Movement) became very short-term-movement, despite these young authors proved their ideas with their publishings with only few of them proved to be far better than the old ones. No matter how ineffective it was in terms of its reasons, the ?Tasfiye Hareketi? (Clearance Movement) gave way to new approaches in literature with its conclusions. Some of the artworks of the young artists of the term?s Tasfiye Hareketi provided them an opportunity to better promote themselves and their ability with the claim of refreshment. In this sense, Tasfiye Hareketi prepared the grounds for the following Garip movement. Both spiritual and material turmoil was experienced in the Europe by the World War II. The war caused mental and ideological disorders onpeople. Despite not personally being in the War, the young population of Turkey has taken their shares from this global turmoil. The breakthrough of the young population with a claim of literature in a country which has just left a war behind itself, newly established and trying to fix its presence with the revolutions, was excused despite their breakthrough was rather sharp.Rather than being a poet and author, Gavsi Ozansoy was more known with his journalist characteristic. In addition to the poems and stories published in the Uyanı? (Awakening) Magazine, Ozansoy became prominent by his speeches and the literary interviews with the famous poets and authors of the Tasfiye Hareketi (Clearance Movement) of 1940 after a long time. In this study, we would like to examine the Tasfiye Hareketi (Clearance Movement) in a detailed way and by compiling these literary interviews under one umbrella giving way to reflect the mysterious aspects and statements of our men of letters.Key Words:1.
