Abstract (EN)

Keywords: 2-methoxyphenol, guaiacol, oxirane, oxypropylamine, antibiotic. It has long been known that oxypropanolamines are used as beta adrenoceptors. They are used in the treatment of many diseases, including cardiovascular diseases, and as a diuretic. The areas where these drugs act are hypertension, heart rhythm regulation, heart rate control, and blood flow rate. In addition, agents containing oxypropanolamine derivative are anti-angina and anti-hypertensive agents. It has been observed that there is a need for new antibiotic drugs that can show resistance against gram-positive bacteria that cause various infections, considering the resistance of bacteria to drugs and the development of resistance even to recently introduced antibiotics. In this study, 8 new oxypropylamines were synthesized using 2-methoxyphenol (guaiacol), and the antimicrobial activities of these synthesized compounds against Staphylococcus Aureus, Enterococcus Feacalis, Escherichia Coli, Klebsiella Pneumoniae and Pseudomonas Aeuruginosa bacteria were investigated.
