Analysis of Gaybi Sun'ullah's Divan

One of the periods of Classical Turkish Literature which is called Religious ? Thesophistical Turkish Literature had been developed with the religious and the humanistic thoughts of Ahmet Yesevi in Middle Asia and Yunus Emre in Anatolia. It had not only affected the poetic language but also literary works. The poet and thesophic Gaybi Sun?ullah has been accepted as one of the important representative of Turkish Theosophistical Literature. 17th century has been known as a hard period for Otoman Empire in political, economical and social aspects. The troublesome in Empire had been felt in every part of the Empire. Although the Empire was in trouble science and art had not been affected. They continued to develop as in 16th century. Especially literature had not been affected and at the second half of the 17th century art and literature preserved their importance. In 17th century, Theosophy Literature became developed in convents. The hymns, which had been sung by the dervishes around the convents in early centuries, started to be sung by the theosophic poets in 17th century. Especially, the saying style of Yunus Emre spreaded in Anatolia. In history, the institutions are the details of civilizations and the people who founded the institutions are the details of the cities. As in most of the Otoman cities, the most important details of Kütahya were the convents and the people who worked there. In Kütahya, there were many trained people. One of them was Gaybi Sun?ullah. His literary works, ?Sohbetname?, ?Divan? and especially in Kütahya ?Huda Rabbim? are well-known. This activity is about the analysis of Gaybi Sun?ullah Divan?s religious and theosopistical principles. Gaybi Sun?ullah is appreciated as a real theosophic and important poet like Yunus Emre by Fuat Köprülü. He is also thought to be a philosopher who has to be examined in details. It is an important deficiency that there is not enough work about Gaybi Sun?ullah. The most important cause of this activity is that there is not an activity on analysis of Gaybi?s Divan. Our activity has two parts. One of them is `analysis? and the other is `index?. The cause of index is to make easier to find the principles and concepts and to make preparation for the other activities and also to shaw the place of couplets which are impossible to analyse. In the analysis of the first part of the work, the principles and the conceptsare demonstratedand the imaginative principles that they imply are explained. In order to make this kind of activity all of the words in the work were systematically classified. Then these concepts were analysed comparatively. We avoide to make subjective thoughts and pleading. Only the meaning, knowledge, culture, special and general pleading, thought, intention and imagination in poems are tried to be transferred in details. On the basis of this activity, the religious and theosophistical concepts in `Divan? are analysed. We gathered them in two titles which are called `Religion? and `Theosophy?. We handle `religion? as belief, worship, verse of the Koran, Mohammed?s traditions, religious people and other religious concepts.We appreciated `theosophy? as universe, theosophical concepts, some theosophics some people for Gaybi. The first numbers we give in `analysis? and `index? are belonging to poem in `Divan? and the second numbers are belonging to couplet. The works in bibliography have important role in the preparation of this activity. Although we made careful analysisin Divan of Gaybi Sun?ullah, there maybe deficiencies in the work. But we hope to be forgiven by the readers
