in A NEW FLUTE EDUCATION CURRICULUM FOR PREPARED 1995- 96 ACADEMIC YEAR FOR THE FIRST YEAR STUDENTS AT GAZI UNIVERSITY, FACULTY OF EDUCATION, DEPARTMENT OF MUSIC TEACHING (M. Sc. Thesis) Sevda GEDİK GAZİ UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY February, 1999 ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to develop a suggested flute curriculum and instruction from the definition of flute education curriculum prepared for 199^5-1996 academic year for the first year students at Gazi University, Faculty of Education Department of Music Teaching. This suggested music education curriculum includes the elements of a contemporary curriculum as its objectives, content, its teaching and learning situations (contexts) and its measurement and evaluation stages within itself. Moreover; a flute curriculum, including its topic areas to be studied during the first yaer of the students were developed by the researcher in orders to help the flute educators. It is believed that the objectives that will be helpful for improving the flute education and training.
