Abstract (EN)
Despite the rapid development of technology; like other countries, Turkey has also difficulty to meet the requirements of disaster management. This study purposes to prepare a sample plan for Gazi University Faculty of Medicine Hospital (GUFMH) in accordance with international standards. The original name of the proposed system is Hospital Emergency Incident Command System (HEICS) which is adopted and applied by some universities, public and private hospitals in Turkey, and by many developed foreign countries especially the United States of America. Since the plan of this system is modular; it can be applied to disasters in various places and of different scales. While working on establishing a sample Hospital Disaster Plan Model for GUFMH, adaptations and updates have been made by taking into account the previous studies and present Hospital Disaster Plan of GUFMH.The Relevant Hospital Disaster Plan is based on a model, which can be applied in all types and sizes of disasters and has lower cost. The plan mentions that the damages of disasters will be reduced by training, triage experiences, and the field hospitals which are planned to be established.Within the model; all duties, responsibilities, and the links among them are indicated in the organization chart. The proposed number of personnel for GUFMH is 59.According to the statistics, our country is assumed to frequently encounter with the disasters. Whatever the size, type, destruction of such disasters is, training and educative exercises would minimize the damages of disasters like those other developed countries did. Keywords:Disaster, Disaster Management, Hospital Disaster Plan, Hospital Emergency Command System, Triage, Field Hospital, Organization Chart.
