Systematical and faunistical evaluations on specimens of Therevidae (Diptera) in Zoology Museum of Gazi University

Abstract (EN)

In this study, 318 specimens which were collected from different parts of Turkey between 1999-2007, were evaluated and 29 species from 6 genus were identified. Thereva unica Haris, [1780] , Thereva affinis Kröber, 1913, Thereva binotata Loew, 1847, Thereva cinifera Meigen, 1830, Thereva fulvibarba Kröber, 1912, Thereva glaucescens Kröber, 1912, Thereva lanata Zetterstedt, [1838], Thereva nitidifrons Kröber, 1913, Thereva pilifrons Kröber, 1912, Thereva tuberculata Loew, 1847, Thereva tristis Loew, 1847, Thereva valida Loew, 1847, Salentia fuscipennis Costa, 1857 are new records for Turkish fauna. Also, 1 species from Acrosathe, 1 species from Pandivirilia and 3 species from Thereva are considered to be new for science. As a result of this study, descriptions of species, information about localities, vii distribution in World and Turkey with identification keys of species and distribution maps for the research area are given and male genitalia of each species are illustrated.
