Abstract (EN)

The Defining Of Erosion Areas In Gaziantep Region (Nizip, Karkamiş, Yavuzeli, Oğuzeli And Araban Districts) By Usage Of Soil erosion is a serious danger for country?s soil and our region. Erosion modellings are very useful vehicles in exposing the problem and planning the cultivation of soil. For this aim the erosion assuming model, Renewed Universal Soil Loses Equality (RUSLE) is one of the widely used models in Turkey and the world.By this study potential yearly soil lose degrees are defined in Gaziantep Region (Nizip, Karkamış, Yavuzeli, Oğuzeli and Araban districts) in Geographical Information System (GIS) circle with RUSLE parameter and the areas erosion happened defined locationaly and mapped. The Erodibility values are found high between 0, 34 and 0,79 in Gaziantep Region (Nizip, Karkamış, Yavuzeli, Oğuzeli and Araban districts). Also in these alkali soils the degree of organic substance defined very low. When other factors or erosion in studied area accepted unchangeable and soil peculiarities like texture, structure organic substances taken into consideration all the area is seen that it can be eroded away strongly or very strongly when soil lose degrees are utilized according to the results of categories of erosion risk with RUSLE/GIS model and RUSLE-A, the intensity of potential risks of erosion in study area is defined very high as 7,42%, as high 12,26%, medium 31,72% and low 48,61%.
