Gaziantep city 3 yearly study results of 112 emergency ambulances

In this study, we have examined ambulance working order in 3 years period between the years 2006-2008 in Gaziantep city.In this study personnel number working in 112 ambulances, daily emergency exit numbers for emergency patients, period of time of arriving the patient and arriving the closest medical institution, transfer of patients according to their illness, range of cases to sexuality and age, population per station and automatisation between 112 emergency command center and hospitals have been examined. Data acquired is analyzed by using Microsoft Office Excel program.According to the gender male cases have been found more than female cases. Female case number above 65 years old has been found more than male case number. The highest case has been found in 16-25 years old group for males and above 65 years old for females.It?s determined that the case number is increasing every year. The reason of announcements is determined as 54.6% medical cases and 16.3% traffic cases. According to pre-diagnosis it?s determined that trauma cases are decreasing and the cases concerning cardiovascular system are increasing gradually. It?s seen that a great majority of the cases are reached within the first 20 minutes. It?s seen that ambulance emergency exits contains 62.5% hospital transfer, 13.5% a timely intervention and 9.5% transfer inter-hospitals. Ambulance exit numbers are increasing every passing year has been determined.With this study it is concluded that planning should be done not to cause any delay in reaching emergency case because of rate of increase of ambulance usage and in addition to this it?s determined that the communication between command center and inter-hospitals should be in maximum level to minimize waiting period during transfer to hospitals and frequent updates of used and empty bed lists of hospitals should be done.Key Words: Ambulance, 112, Automatisation
