Abstract (EN)
Culture has always come first in defining societies. When describing a society, it is defined, defined and promoted by culture. Eating and drinking culture is the most important element used to express them as a symbol of every society. The traditional lives of people have always been in a state of change throughout history. The most important factor affected by this change is culture. The concept of popular culture, which emerged as a result of these changes, not only affected the eating and drinking culture, which is the symbol of societies, but also brought it to a point of change. Eating and drinking cultures, formed by the experience, habits and methods of societies for thousands of years, have been shaped by the geography they live in, their own traditions and the legacy that continues for generations. Eating and drinking culture, which is an important element in recognizing every society, has begun to differentiate with the changing perception of society, living conditions and technological advances. This differentiation has changed people's preferences, habits and food consumption with popular culture. This change has also affected the order of priority in determining the needs of people and has revealed a situation in which attitudes and behaviors are shaped with a hedonistic approach. The effect of popular culture, on which many different definitions and discussions are made, on food consumption is the aim of this study. In addition, investigating the conspicuous consumption tendency of people in food consumption with the effect of popular culture is another aim of the study.
