Abstract (EN)

In this study, it is aimed to examine the use of alcohol in food in terms of Islamic Law. For this, the issue of alcohol, which is one of the most basic issues in the halal food field, has been discussed. It has been tried to determine the fiqh provision of ethyl alcohol and foods in different forms containing ethyl alcohol. First of all, after giving information about alcohols in general, ethyl alcohol and its forms in foods were examined. In order to determine the verdict of ethyl alcohol and foods containing ethyl alcohol, the provisions in the Qur'an and Sunnah related to drinks, the approaches of the sects and today's fatwa boards on this issue are given. As a result of the researches and examinations, two different approaches have been identified regarding the provision of ethyl alcohol and these approaches have been examined together with their evidence. As a result, it was emphasized that ethyl alcohol should be evaluated differently from hamr (wine), which is strictly forbidden in Islam. It has been stated that there is no harm in consuming foods containing ethyl alcohol, provided that they are not intoxicating and are not consumed with the intention of being drunk.
