Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted as a cross sectional study to determine the status of vaccination behaviours of pregnant women and the factors affecting this behaviour. The population of this study was the pregnant women who had been admitted to the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Polyclinic at the GATA Haydarpaşa Education and Research Hospital between November 2015 - January 2016. The research sample was composed of 152 pregnant women. "Participant Identification Form" and "Knowledge Evaluation Forms" developed by the researchers were used to collect data. The average age of the pregnant women included in this research was 24.36 ± 3.77 years and 42.1% of them hold university graduate degree or above. The mean pregnancy week of women was calculated as 29.37±4.41; the average number of antenatal care was calculated as 7.24 ± 2.18. It was determined that 44.1% of the pregnant women have been vaccinated for Td (Diphtheria-Tetanus), 38.2% for Tdap (Diphtheria-Tetanus-Pertussis), 11.8% for hepatitis B, 7.2% for influenza and 3.9% for Hepatitis A. Among the pregnant women it was determined that the mean of the knowledge level of the recommended vaccinations and their effects was 3.53±2.45 (0-10). There was a statistically significant difference between being vaccinated during pregnancy, the number of miscarriage, pregnancy week, having problems during the pregnancy, and knowledge level for vaccination during pregnancy. Therefore, to increase the tendency to vaccination during pregnancy, it is considered to give priority to conduct education and consultancy activities to increase the knowledge of women about the importance of vaccination.
