Abstract (EN)
Objectives: The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between healthy lifestyle behaviours and partner support in pregnant women. Materials and Methods: This was a descriptive and correlational study. The population of the study consisted of pregnant women registered in İzmir-Torbalı Family Health Centre No. 11 and Family Health Centre No. 12 (n=272). The sample of the study was calculated as the smallest number (n=194) that can be achieved with 50% unknown prevalence, 0.05 deviation and 99% confidence interval in the Epi-Info programme. The sample consisted of 195 pregnant women who completed the data collection instruments between September 2023 and December 2023. Data were collected using the personal information form, the Healthy Lifestyle Behaviours Scale II (HRBS) and the Spousal Support Scale (SSS). SPSS 25.00 (Statistical Package For Social Science) was used for data analysis.. Results: The mean age of the pregnant women participating in the study was 30.59±5.26 years (min=19, max=45), 41% were high school graduates, 60% were unemployed, and 61% had income equal to expenses. 66.7% of the pregnant women lived at home with their husbands and children. The mean gestational age was 24.93±7.18 weeks (min=6, max=38) and 45.6% of the pregnant women were having their first pregnancy. The mean score of the Healthy Lifestyle Behaviours Scale II was 131.46±18.2 and the mean score of the Spousal Support Scale was 61.25±11.75. A moderate positive correlation was found between the mean scores of the Healthy Lifestyle Behaviours Scale II and the Spousal Support Scale (r: 0.412, p=0.001). Conclusion: The study found a positive relationship between healthy lifestyle behaviours of pregnant women and spousal support.
