The effect of pregnancy perception on the level of coronavirus anxiety in the pandemic process

This research was carried out to determine the effect of pregnant women's health perception on the level of coronavirus anxiety during the pandemic process.The descriptive study was conducted with 230 pregnant women who applied to the Obstetrics and Gynecology Polyclinics of Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Training and Research Hospital. Survey form, Health Perception Scale and Coronavirus Anxiety Scale" were used to collect data. The data were collected by face-to-face interview technique.In the analysis of the data, percentage, mean and standard deviation calculations, sample t-test and single variable variance (ANOVA) tests were performed. In the study, it was determined that the total mean score of the Health Perception Scale of the pregnant women was 48.90±6.47 and its sub-dimensions were 13.63±3.58 for the control center, 12.61±2.94 for precision, 11.80±1.96 for the importance of health, and 10.85±1.98 for self-awareness.When the cut-off value of the scale was 9, it was determined that the coronavirus anxiety level of the pregnant women was% 21.7.No significant correlation was found between the sub-dimensions of the Health Perception Scale of Pregnants and the scores of the Coronavirus Anxiety Scale (p>0.05).No statistically significant difference was found between the socio-demographic, obstetric and COVID-19 characteristics of the pregnant women and the mean score of the Coronavirus Anxiety Scale (p>0.05).A statistically significant difference was found between the education of the pregnant women, the education of their spouses, their employment, their economic level, their willingness to become pregnant, and the mean scores of the Health Perception Scale and sub-dimensions (p<0.05).A statistically significant correlation was found between the mean score of the total sub-dimension of SAI, with one of their family members and those who had COVID-19, those with systemic disease, those who had the COVID-19 test and those who were in quarantine (p<0.05).In line with the findings; It was concluded that the health perceptions of pregnant women were good, their coronavirus anxiety levels were low, and the health perception did not have an effect on the coronavirus anxiety level of pregnant women during the pandemic process.
