Evaluation of headache before and during pregnancy

In this research , the findings of the characteristics of headache before pregnancy and during pregnancy are intended to compared and introduced . The primary target of research is to determine the differences of participants between before pregnancy and during pregnancy in terms of headache type , characteristics , frequency of the pain.For this study , 341 voluntary pregnant patients between the dates 01.09.2009-31.02.2010 were included from Afyonkarahisar Zubeyde Hanim Maternity and Child Care Hospital and AKÜ Ahmet Necdet Sezer and Research Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology Service. In this study, the required number of samples are determined with the formula of Moser and Kalton (1979) which is proposed to use of the determination of sample size. In the research of sample size, survey method was used to collect the data. While determining the standard error is 0.04 and the confidence interval will assumed to be 95% . Within the scope of the analysis, cross tables and chi-square test are used. In the analysis of the data, the nominal (classifier) the scale is generally used and questionnaire questions were generally prepared in an open-ended questions .31.1% of the pregnants who involved in this study were suffering from headaches prior to pregnancy. There are 16 migraine , 52 tension-type headache, there are 38 other complaints of headache before pregnancy and in the 92.5% it was seen to continue during pregnacy. 18.3% of the participants who are not suffering from pre-pregnancy faced with a complaint of headache during pregnancy.During pregnancy,it is concluded that there are significant differences between participants with and without headache on the subject of headache are in terms of pregnancy. Participants who had suffered from headaches during pregnancy regard the issue more positive than the pregnants who didn?t suffer from headache during pregnancy .
