Determining the effect of violence during pregnancy on healthy lifestyle behaviors

Abstract (EN)
INTRODUCTION AND PURPOSE: Women are exposed to violence at every stage of their lives. The most important and sensitive of these periods is the pregnancy period. In this study, it was aimed to determine the frequency of violence during pregnancy and to determine the effect of violence on healhty lifestyle behaviors of pregnant women. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This descriptive study was conducted with 341 pregnant women in a public hospital between February and June 2021. ''Participant diagnosis form "," Health Practices in Pregnancy Scale" and" Domestic Violence Against Women Scale" were used to collect the research data. Descriptive statistical metods in data analysis, t test, ANOVA, Oneway ANOVA, Levene test, Bonferroni and Tamhane's T2 test were used. For significance p<0,05 were admitted. FINDING: The mean score of the pregnant women in GSUÖ was 123.27±13 (moderate level) and AKŞÖ score average was 67.01±7.32 (moderate level) calculated. It has been determined that there is a statistically significant negative relationship between GSUÖ and AKŞÖ and its sub-dimensions, emotional violance and sexual violence. A positive correlation was found between age, number of pregnancies, number of live births and AKŞÖ, and a significant positive correlation between GSUÖ and age at marrige (p<0,05). The age at marriage with AKŞÖ and the number of live births with GSUÖ a negative significant (p<0.05) relationship was found. On the other hand, it was determined that, there was a significant positive relationship between the number of miscarriages and physical violance. CONCLUSION: It has been determined that violence during pregnancy is moderate, domestic violence effects healthy lifestyle, practices during pragnancy and with the increase inviolence, the compliance of pragnant women to these behaviors decreases.
